4 Robots On Call At Sinai Hospital

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Four robots are now busy working 24-7 at Baltimore's Sinai Hospital.

Richard Sher reports they travel the hallways stopping at each nurses' station to deliver prescriptions.

The multi-million dollar system has been in operation a little more than a month.

"Because each prescription is bar coded, it takes the human factor out of the equation and guarantees the proper drugs are being delivered for each patient," said pharmacy manager Lisa Polinsky.

Tanya Jones, R.N., is nurse manager for orthopedics and trauma.

"The robots have helped increase the speed at which prescriptions get to the floors and are given to the patients. They are well-treated just like any other Sinai employee," said Jones.
