WJZ Viewers Share Thoughts About Ravens Win

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― "Joe Flacco played very well for a rookie quarter back in his first NFL game, no interceptions and no fumbles on his part. He is very smart and kept his composure through the whole game. I say to the fans of Baltimore, our prayers are answered." -- Tim from Pasadena, Md.

"I don't know if the Bengals are that bad or the Ravens are that good. So far what I've seen is promising. I'll continue to watch McLain & Flacco and the rest of the team to see if they get into a cohesive unit and win the Super Bowl. My hopes are high. For right now, it looks as though we have finally found a quarterback & a good running back." -- George

"In spite of growing up with five brothers all of whom enjoyed football, a husband who is a Ravens fan with his own Purple Bird Ravens hardhat and a son who plays sports year round, I am not a sports person. However, in 2007 my son participated in Wilcox summer football camp at the Ravens stadium. Mr. Wilcox was an inspiration informing the boys of the realness connected to the dream of becoming a NFL star. Even his mother was on hand to answer questions from mothers like myself. But I became a fan as Mr. Ed Reed, my son's football hero, took the time to sign my son's hat even though the PR person was telling him no more autographs. He allowed me to snap a photo of him and my son.  I have followed the game, looking for both Mr. Wilcox and Mr. Reed since.  With the start of this season, I joined my husband talking to the T.V. screen with each play and with the first touch down I was up out of my seat yelling just as loud as my husband. I enjoyed the game." -- Sheila Farmer

"I was so proud to see the Ravens win Sunday, Flacco set his place in many fans hearts by running for the touchdown and was also able to control the ball. What a great rookie to stand up to what was being thrown at him; sometimes trial by fire is the way to make it work. I hope he can continue to show us more of his abilities as the games go on." -- Pat Thompson from Manchester

"Invigorating, exciting, improbable, intense, refreshing, change, rebirth…that's the offensive part.  Defense- total destruction. Interestingly, reading the Cincy papers this morning, it was all about their internal strife and being manhandled by a very inferior Baltimore team. Not one word on the quality of performance by the Ravens."  --Pat S. from Baltimore

"The Ravens may be in the enviable position of having two fine quarterbacks, and, considering how rough and injury producing the game has become, this could be a very good thing. Many teams have had promising seasons interrupted through losing their star play-callers to injury. Having two QBs of the quality of Joe Flacco and
Troy Smith may come to be the standard in the NFL. Both should have their chance to shine."  --Charles Burton, Owings Mills

"The game was outstanding. Flacco was like a bullet in the air hitting the bulls-eye every time. The whole team was great and the head coach had his heart and soul in it all the way. Bless them all and go Ravens go and keep behind Flacco. He is a blessing for our team" -- Mary Lou Knox
