Teens Accused Of Gang-Raping 12-Year-Old Girl

FEDERALSBURG, Md. (WJZ) ―
Five teenage boys are accused of a horrific crime--gang-raping a 12-year-old girl at a baseball field.
It happened earlier this month in Federalsburg.
Adam May reports the young suspects face between 20 years and life in prison if they're convicted.
The small town of Federalsburg is stunned by allegations that the 12-year-old girl went to a ballpark to have sex with her 15-year-old boyfriend and ended up getting gang-raped by a group of other teenagers.
"There was quite a few young people around that same age-frame, 12-16, in the park. She did not know all of them. She knew one or two by nickname," said State's Attorney Jonathan Newell.
He's moving forward with adult charges for five of the suspects.
"If I had five little girls right now and they were out, I would allow them to be right there with them without my supervision. That's how much I know they would not have done this," said a suspect's mother, who asked not to be identified.
But according to court documents, that woman's son was actually blocking the entrance to the dugout, keeping the victim inside, as the other suspects stood around chanting things like, "Let's run a train on her!" and "10 minute limit each."
A condom wrapper lies in the dugout two weeks after the suspects were sent to the county jail for the alleged attack. Police say it came to light when some of the suspects bragged about it to school.
"The statements that have been given have all been fairly consistent," Newell said.
The girl went to the hospital a week after the attack. Doctors say they found evidence of forced penetration and sodomy.
