Del. Man Charged With Raping Md. Girl
FEDERALSBURG, Md. (AP) ―
State police say a Delaware man has been charged with raping a mentally challenged Caroline County girl and fathering her child.
Police charged David Kline, 43, of Newark, Del., on Monday with first-degree rape and related sexual offenses.
Police say Kline got into the then-15-year-old girl's Federalsburg home in July 2005 while her mother was at work. After Kline tied her hands and covered her face, police say he drove to a remote spot in Dorchester County, where he raped the girl and she became pregnant.
Police say a paternity test shows that Kline is the father of the girl's child.
Kline was arrested last month as a fugitive in Delaware and was returned to Maryland on Monday. He is being held without bail in the Dorchester County Detention Center.
