Police are investigating after someone gets their hands on a fire department radio and uses it to harass and taunt firefighters.
Vic Carter reports the cat and mouse game went on for 10 hours and the culprit is still on the loose.
For almost an entire day, emergency workers in Prince George's County had difficulty communicating.
"Get some, get some" was one of the messages sent over the radio.
An agitator with a stolen fire department radio kept polluting the airwaves with his chatter, taunts and music.
"I paid money for this thing," was another message.
They asked him to stop.
Police even tried to meet up with the rogue radio operator, but addresses he gave only led to a longer wild goose chase.
Dispatchers say despite the interference, no one's safety was compromised, and emergency crews were able to respond to each call for help.
The county is implementing a new digital radio system next year which will allow dispatchers to block rogue signals.
