Michael Phelps In NYC To Boost Youth Swimming
NEW YORK (AP) ―
Michael Phelps wants everyone in the pool.
The 14-time Olympic gold medalist appeared at a YMCA on Thursday to encourage kids to learn to swim at an early age.
Phelps joined Visa in presenting a $20,000 check to the YMCA of Greater New York to support youth swimming programs and possibly inspire the next generation of Olympic athletes.
Phelps won eight of his gold medals at Beijing Olympics this month.
