Orioles' Shortstop Castro Becomes U.S. Citizen

BALTIMORE (AP) ― Baltimore Orioles shortstop Juan Castro is no longer a foreigner in the American League.

He returned to the team Wednesday after flying to Phoenix to be sworn in as a US citizen. Castro was born in Mexico and lives with his wife in Glendale, Ariz. They applied for citizenship last fall and recently passed the citizenship test.
