Juan Rivera and Casey Kotchman homered to help Joe Saunders earn his 13th victory, and the surging Los Angeles Angels defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-5.
Back after missing two games on bereavement leave, Torii Hunter had two RBIs for the Angels. They led 5-0 after two innings and held on for their eighth win in nine games.
Los Angeles closer Francisco Rodriguez gave up Kevin Millar's second home run of the game and a double to Brandon Fahey in the ninth, but retired Luke Scott on a grounder for his 43rd save, most in the majors.
Saunders is 13-and-5. He allowed four runs, three earned, and six hits in 6 2-3 innings. The left-hander took a 3-hitter and a 5-1 lead into the seventh but never made it out of the inning after retiring the first two batters.
