Motorcyclist Dies After Rear-Ending Cruiser

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) ― A Maryland man has died after his motorcycle rear-ended a cruiser during a police chase in the Eastern Panhandle.

West Virginia State Police Sgt. K.E. Plumer identified the man as 49-year-old Frank Alton Biddinger of Damascus, Md.

Plumer says he tried to pull over Biddinger at about 1 a.m. Wednesday for speeding in a construction zone near Charles Town. When Biddinger wouldn't stop, police from three other agencies joined Plumer in pursuit.

Plumer says Biddinger's motorcycle crashed after a deputy sheriff passed him and braked the cruiser in an attempt to get Biddinger to stop.

Biddinger was wanted in Maryland on charges of resisting arrest, trying to elude police and driving on a revoked licenses, among others.
