Boonsboro Mother, 5 Children Reported Missing
BOONSBORO, Md. (AP) ―
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says it does not suspect foul play in the disappearance of a Boonsboro woman and her five children, ages 7 to 18.
Deputy Arnold Cerezo says Katherine Willard's estranged husband James reported her and the children missing Thursday.
Cerezo says the 49-year-old woman was last seen in Washington County District Court June 30, when she withdrew a child abuse complaint against her husband.
He says there are indications the family left home voluntarily, and authorities just want to know that they are OK. Police say they may be traveling in a silver GMC 15-passenger van, accompanied by Willard's 20-year-old daughter and her 22-year-old boyfriend.
Court records document a child custody dispute starting in November 2006. The documents indicate that Katherine Willard has sought protective orders against James Willard for alleged domestic violence on at least two occasions.
