Police Car Involved In Montgomery County Crash
ROCKVILLE, Md. (WJZ) ―
A police officer suffered minor injuries overnight in Montgomery County, after the cruiser he was driving crashed into a civilian car.
It happened late Friday night, about midnight Saturday morning, at the intersection of Rockville Pike -- also known as Route 355 -- and Edmontson Drive in Rockville.
A police official tells Eyewitness News the officer was transported to an area hospital and was "banged up," but his injuries are not severe.
Radio transmissions also indicate that a person in the back of the police car was injured, but the police official did not confirm those details.
Rockville Pike was shut down for several hours as teams worked to reconstruct the accident.
No arrests or charges have been announced.
