A killer is on the loose, hours after killing a 70-year-old man and then stealing his scooter.
Kelly McPherson spoke with angry family and friends.
In the alleyway between the church where he volunteered as a handyman and his home, Milton Hill--father of three, grandfather of many--was murdered, shot once in the back.
"I'm not believing this and to leave him out here to die like this--their soul's not going to rest with this," said Tracey Hill-Hedgepeth, the victim's daughter.
His cousin found Hill's bloody body Friday morning.
"I don't know if this is a dream or a nightmare or what it is. I don't know how to feel," said Seymore, Hill's cousin.
Family and friends say the only thing missing here when they discovered Hill's body was his green scooter. It was a retirement present from one of his daughters that he only had for less than five years.
"You could've just took the scooter, he would have gave it to him. He would have gave him that scooter," Hill-Hedgepeth said.
"Other than that, nothing else was missing from the victim. From the onset, basically, it looks like another senseless death here in Baltimore," said Donny Moses, Baltimore City Police.
Five days earlier, Hopkins researcher Stephen Pitcairn, 23, was murdered for his wallet and iPhone in Charles Village. A married couple has been charged.
"It's so constant--innocent people, people going to school, people trying to do something with their life--they're the ones losing their life," said Walden Ramsey.
"And I just can't believe that somebody would kill him for his bike," said Lennoria Hill-Joseph, Hill's daughter.
Three children, several grandchildren and old friends thought Hill deserved a more dignified death.
"Him and I both always thought we'd die naturally--a heart attack or something 'cause we work all the time. But when I seen him like that this morning, it was really hard to bear," said John Eden, Hill's longtime friend.
The scooter is a big clue in this case. It's green, may have some front-end damage and had a Roger Rabbit figurine dangling on the handlebar.
