Phelps Plans 1st Hometown Media Event Since Games

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

Swimmer Michael Phelps is scheduled to hold his first news conference in Baltimore since he won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics.

The news conference involving one of Phelps' sponsors, Kellogg Co., is set for Thursday morning at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, where Phelps started training with North Baltimore Aquatic Club at age seven.

Kellogg announced last month that Phelps will appear on boxes of Frosted Flakes and Corn Flakes boxes. But no one is saying yet what he'll be announcing at this news conference.
