Free Md. Home -- If Buyer Moves It
CHURCH CREEK, Md. (AP) ―
The Maryland environmental department is giving away a home near the Blackwater refuge with only one requirement.
The buyer must relocate the Linthicum House because the state is building a visitors center and memorial at the proposed Harriet Tubman National Historical Park. The home is in the Golden Hill Road and Key Wallace Drive area.
Department of Natural Resources officials say any person or organization can bid on the house and must move the house at their expense within three months.
If a proposal isn't accepted, officials will consider proposals to salvage parts of the 1915 three-story wood-framed house. The state described the 1,800 square-foot home as stable and said it retains its interior finishes.
