Court Deputies Subdue Man Accused Of Drowning Kids

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) ― A Montgomery County man awaiting trial in the drowning deaths of his three children has dropped his objections to a divorce from the children's mother.

The decision followed an unusual divorce hearing in Rockville. Mark Castillo, 42, interrogated his wife, raised a series of objections, then turned to leave while the hearing was still in progress. When three deputies tried to handcuff him, Castillo resisted and was subdued with a stun gun.

Castillo later dropped his objections and said the judge could grant the divorce, but he asked that he be allowed to give his wife, Amy, a final kiss. The request was denied.

Castillo is accused of drowning his children in a bathtub at a Baltimore hotel room in March.
