The historic inauguration for President-elect Obama is just two weeks away and almost all the tickets for MARC train service between Baltimore and Washington have been sold for that day.
The problem's not getting to D.C. It's the last few miles to the mall in D.C., what with all the security and the huge crowds. Perhaps the most foolproof way to get to the inauguration is almost sold out. Short of the motorcade, the MARC train is the easiest way to get to the inauguration.
On Inauguration Day, every seat will be filled. They're not selling standing room only tickets. About 30,000 tickets have been printed for the $25 round trip.
"No assigned seats at all," said Jawauna Greene, MTA spokesperson.
The only way to get the ticket is to go online.
"This has been an overwhelming response," Greene said.
There are 29 special trains on that day. They start rolling at 5 a.m. and stop at 10. For the return trip, they will run from 4-8 p.m.
System-wide, they're 90% sold out, so there are only 3,000 tickets left.
