Train Derailment Not Expected To Affect MARC Lines

POINT OF ROCKS, Md. (AP) ―

Maryland Transit Administration officials say the derailment of a CSX freight train near Point of Rocks on Saturday is not expected to affect MARC commuter rail service.

The derailment occurred on a line that carries MARC's Brunswick line.

Two of 88 freight cars on the train derailed and ended up on their sides.

The cars were carrying about a dozen new automobiles from Cumberland to Baltimore.
