Carbon Monoxide Leak At Woodlawn Apt. Complex

WOODLAWN, Md. (WJZ) ― There are new gas furnaces installed in 12 townhomes at Chadwick Manor in Woodlawn, after a faulty furnance caused a carbon monoxide leak Saturday morning.

Five adults and three children, living in adjacent homes, were taken to hospital for treatment and released. Maurice McLean, 18, who lives on Chadno Court, tells WJZ's Richard Sher, "I was in bed, then woke up with a terrible headache, and threw up some."

Management reacted quickly, checking each of the 416 townhomes for carbon monoxide. They then replaced 12 furances, and installed carbon monoxide detectors in each home.
