Man Charged In Perryville Slaying Claims Insanity
PERRYVILLE, Md. (AP) ―
A 25-year-old man charged in a woman's slaying at a Perryville motel says he was insane at the time of her death.
Krsna Johnson's attorney filed a not-criminally responsible motion Monday. The man, who has no fixed address, said he was mentally or psychologically impaired before he allegedly shot the woman to death last October.
Johnson is accused of shooting and killing Kimberly Cain, 22, about 11 p.m. Oct. 12 outside a motel in Perryville where Cain lived with Johnson's girlfriend. Authorities say Johnson had been arguing with his girlfriend, and shot Cain when Cain left the motel room to call 911.
Cecil County Circuit Judge O. Robert Lidums tabled the trial so Johnson could have a psychiatric evaluation.
