Boyfriend In Bus Attack Takes Stand

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―

The Baltimore couple attacked while riding an MTA bus was back in court Thursday. The victim's boyfriend took the stand and gave his side of the story.

Mike Hellgren reports some of the teenagers accused in this case have long argued Troy Ennis and Sarah Kreager instigated the attack.  Ennis says that was not the case.

He described in frightening detail, the moments when he says the teenagers rushed both of them on the the MTA bus.

Ennis told the court his side of the brutal bus beating in Hampden last December.  Ennis said he and Kreager got off the bus, full of rowdy teenagers.

He told the court one of the teens instigated a fight over a seat and it escalated as they tried to protect themselves.  Ennis said the bus driver eventually let Kreager and Ennis off the bus.

The bus driver said he tried to hold the doors closed, but the juveniles were pushing and kicking it to get out.

Ennis says the juveniles eventually spilled out onto the street and began kicking and hitting him and Kreager until police arrived. He said he nearly cried when he saw her bloody face.

Nine teens are accused of the beating.  Five are on trial right now, three have been delayed and one has already pleaded guilty in juvenile court.

Ennis will be on the stand for much of Thursday and he still faces cross-examination by five different defense attorneys.
