Federal Prosecutor's Death Still Unsolved

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― It's a case that sent fear through law enforcement circles and led to a massive investigation and emotional pleas for help.  Now, five years later, the death of Baltimore federal prosecutor Jonathan Luna remains an unsolved mystery.

Adam May investigates why.

It's basically infighting between investigative agencies.  One says murder and the other suicide.

Husband, father of two and assistant U.S. attorney Jonathan Luna seemed to have it all until he was found facedown in a Pennsylvania creek five years ago.

The FBI case is pending inactive with nothing new in two years and investigators are refusing to comment.

Sources say the FBI believes it's a suicide, but others don't believe it, including the coroner, who ruled the death a homicide.

The disagreement has led to a stalemate in the investigation.

The coroner's office challenged the FBI to prove their suicide theory.  Since that offer two and a half years ago, the Feds have remained silent.

Luna's family has not spoken publicly since the death.
