Are you safe when walking around the Inner Harbor? The police commissioner says yes, but a string of recent brazen attacks have locals and tourists on edge.
Mike Schuh speaks exclusively with a local teenager who says he's the latest victim.
Safe was not the experience of an East Baltimore teenager. He says he was attacked by a group of teens at the Inner Harbor. Now police are looking for suspects.
A blood-soaked shirt, a cut finger, other fingers skinned and a swollen face are the painful reminders of Brandon Robinson's violent day.
"Sometimes I think about it," Robinson said. "Sometimes I try to forget."
He is a 16-year-old ninth grader at the National Academy Foundation School. The attack happened about 12:30 p.m. as he left school to catch the bus home. While walking, Brandon says about 15 boys -- some older than he is and some younger -- jumped him next to a wall in front of the Maryland Science Center.
"All I remember is getting punched in the face," he said.
Brandon said after the attack, some people helped him get to the gallery. He called his father, who picked him up and took him to the hospital.
His father, James Robinson, is furious.
"When I first saw my son, I thought about taking matters into my own hands," James Robinson said.
James Robinson says he calmed down, ran into a police officer and filed a report.
The attack happened amid other Inner Harbor problems and a day after City Police Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld declared the area is safe.
"I think that parents should be policing their children. I've always thought that," James Robinson said.
Brandon says he's doing better although he will not go to school for the rest of the term. The term ends this week.
Police are investigating this assault. If you have information, please call police.
