Man Pleads Guilty In Woman's 6-Week Hostage Ordeal

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) ―

A Reisterstown man accused of holding a woman captive for about six weeks has accepted a plea agreement and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

William Parrish III, 26, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of first-degree assault and a first-degree sex offense.

Carroll County prosecutors say Parrish held the 25-year-old Owings Mills woman last February and March at his grandfather's home in Finksburg.

According to court records, the woman escaped March 30 when she accompanied Parrish to a Westminster liquor store.

She told police Parrish repeatedly struck her, had gagged her and burned and tattooed her with his name. She said she was repeatedly forced to have sex. Parrish threatened to "kill her and her children."
