Fire Destroys House, Damages Neighboring Homes

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) ―

Prince George's County fire officials say a fire in Upper Marlboro destroyed a house and damaged homes on either side.

The fire broke out about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 13200-block of Ailesbury Court. Firefighters arrived to find the two-story, single-family house fully involved. Officials say a broken natural gas line inside the house had to be secured before the blaze could be extinguished.

Thirty firefighters battled the blaze for 90 minutes. There were no injuries.

The fire caused $300,000 in damage. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
