Panel Identifies 5 Possible Horse Farm Sites
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) ―
Howard County's Horse Park Task Force has identified five sites in the county that it says would be good locations for the planned Maryland Horse Park.
In its final report, the panel stopped short of recommending a specific site and said instead that more needs to be done to contact and negotiate with the property owners.
The horse park would promote the state's horse industry with a museum, a visitor center and at least 850 stables.
The five sites include two locations in Ellicott City, land in Clarksville owned by the University of Maryland Central Research and Education Center, the Belmont estate next to Patapsco State Park and site combining land from the Howard County Fairgrounds and nearby West Friendship Park.
