Suspect Search On In Fatal Hit-And-Run

WEST INVERNESS, Md. (WJZ) ―

The search is on for a man nicknamed "Reds," who is wanted in connection with the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist Sunday night.

Richard Sher reports James Sasser, 47, was hit and killed by the driver of a Dodge Stratus at 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lunch and Kelmore roads in West Inverness, Baltimore County.

"Mr. Sasser was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver got out of the car and walked away," said Bill Toohey with Baltimore County Police.

"He's a coward who thought only of himself. I'm not going to rest until the driver who killed our brother is found and will make sure justice will be done," said David Sasser.

The owner of the Stratus tells Baltimore County Police that the driver who ran off has red hair. The owner of the Stratus does not.

If you know anything about this hit-and-run death, call Baltimore County Police at 410-887-5396.
