Former Firefighter Pleads Guilty To Md. Arsons
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) ―
A former Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company member has pleaded guilty to setting two fires last summer in the Jefferson area.
Wayne Duncan, 29, of Jefferson pleaded guilty Wednesday to first- and second-degree arson in the fires.
Duncan was set to go on trial next week in Frederick County Circuit Court for a string of arsons that spanned more than a decade. He was arrested in August and charged with starting four fires, three in the month preceding his arrest and one in September 1997.
At sentencing April 30, prosecutors say they will recommend a 27-year sentence.
