He wanted a Ravens win or Coach Brian Billick to be fired before he came down from the roof. But Ronnie Stach is sitting in jail, until he can come up with $7,000 cash for his bond.
The man known as the "goof on the roof" had his day in court Friday.
Ronnie Stach was arrested for failure to pay child support.
Peggy Lee talked with the woman to whom Stach reportedly owes more than $40,000.
He swore he wouldn't come off the roof until either the Ravens won or Brian Billick was fired. But sheriff's deputies changed all that.
It was his Stach's ex-wife Kelly who contacted authorities after seeing all the media coverage on him.
"I took it upon myself to make some phone calls. I called the Warrant Department in Baltimore City and Baltimore County," said Kelly Stach.
According to court records, a warrant was issued for Stach's arrest on June 5 after he failed to appear in court for a child support hearing.
In Stach's court appearance Friday, a Baltimore County judge told him he currently owes more than $43,000 in back payments.
"The money, I'll be honest with you, the money isn't what I'm looking for. I'm looking for him to do the right thing," said Kelly.
The fact that Stach was living on top of a Canton bar actually came up in court Friday.
The judge asked Stach what he had been doing to raise money to support his child, Stach said the heavy media coverage had him hoping he could get a gig as a sports radio personality. Stach said that probably wouldn't happen now, after he'd been publicly humiliated with this arrest.
"Nothing really surprised me that came out of his mouth. There's nothing that's come out of his mouth today that he hasn't fed to the judge in the past," said Kelly Stach.
The judge set bail at $7,000 cash. Stach's next court appearance is on Jan. 29.
