Climate Change Panel To Meet Again

REISTERSTOWN, Md. (AP) ― A task force planning Maryland's response to global warming meets Friday in Baltimore County as the group prepares its final recommendations.

The climate change panel has indicated it will recommend steep carbon caps for the state to help reduce greenhouse gases and climate change.

The panel is also looking at new rules for coastal development and setting up monetary credits for people who make their homes more energy efficient or buy energy-efficient appliances or cars.

The commission is made up of politicians, scientists, businesses and environmental activists. It will proposed dozens of recommendations later this year.
