Frostburg Teacher Accused Of Sex With Student

FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) ―

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit have arrested a teacher from Frostburg following allegations she had a sexual relationship with a male student.

Autumn Leathers, 24, was arrested Wednesday night. Leathers taught at Mountain Ridge High School, but officials say she has been placed on leave and faces termination proceedings.

Police say a 16-year-boy told investigators he had been having sexual relations with Leathers since the spring, when he was 15.

Authorities believe the activity occurred at Leathers' home and not at school.

Leathers is charged with child sexual abuse, fourth-degree sex offense and related charges.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
