Man Sentenced In High-Speed Adamstown Crash

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) ―

A man who crashed his car into another at 134 miles per hour, killing an Adamstown woman, has been ordered to serve 18 months in the Frederick County detention center.

Benjamin Clark, 29, of Silver Spring was sentenced Thursday as part of a plea agreement on a vehicular manslaughter charge.

The jail time is part of a 10-year suspended sentence, which also includes three years probation.

The afternoon crash in April 2007 killed 60-year-old Vivian Gaynor. Authorities say Clark was showing off to co-workers when he was speeding on Lilypons Road in Adamstown.

His car struck Gaynor's car head-on.
