Western Md. Rivers Expected To Crest

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) ―

Flood warnings are still in effect in parts of Western Maryland where several roads remain closed because of high water.

In Washington County, a flood warning for the Conococheague Creek at Fairview is in effect through Tuesday evening. The creek is expected to rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and crest after midnight.

Minor flooding is expected along Wishard Road and portions of Route 63 north of Huyetts Crossroads.

The National Weather Service says minor flooding is forecast for the Potomac River basin below Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

In Frederick County, a flood warning is in effect for the Monocacy River near Frederick. The river is expected to crest at three feet above flood stage after midnight.
