Firefighters Fight 3-Alarm Warehouse Blaze
BALTIMORE (AP) ―
A Baltimore fire official says a three-alarm blaze at a warehouse is under investigation.
The fire broke out just before midnight Saturday in the 1800-block of Worcester Street in South Baltimore.
Fire department spokesman Chief Kevin Cartwright says the flames were so intense, firefighters had to battle the blaze from outside the building.
He says the fire went to three alarms, bringing about 100 fire department personnel to the scene, and it took about two hours to control the fire.
Cartwright says a CSX rail line runs right next to the warehouse and traffic along that line was shut down while the fire was extinguished. It was restored Sunday morning.
Cartwright says there were no injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
