Man Found Dead In Burning Vehicle In Md.

SUITLAND, Md. (AP) ― Prince George's County police say the body of a man was discovered in the passenger seat of a vehicle found burning in Suitland.

Firefighters were called to the 2500-block of Darel Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday for a vehicle fire.

After firefighters put out the flames, police spokesman Officer Henry Tippett says they found the man's body.

The body had not been identified Sunday afternoon and Tippett says the body was so badly burned that detectives are waiting for an autopsy to determine whether the man was shot or stabbed before the fire started.

The case was classified as a death investigation, but Tippett says considering the suspicious circumstances it seems likely the death will soon be classified as a homicide.
