Crews Battle 3-Alarm Fire In Elkridge

ELKRIDGE, Md. (WJZ) ― Firefighters battle a 3-alarm fire in Howard County.

Captain Mike Perry reports the fire happened around 12 p.m. on the 6700-block of Old Waterloo Road.

The fire started in the second or third floor of the complex. Families have been displaced as a result of the fire. Fire crews from Howard and Anne Arundel County are on the scene.

There is no word on what caused the fire.

The American Red Cross tells WJZ that they are assisting 16 families displaced by the fire.

The apartment complex will relocate many of the families, but The Red Cross is making sure residents have medications and other essentials.
