More than 60 people attended a groundbreaking for a FedEx truck terminal on Md. 63.
The terminal will be set on 137 acres and will be one of FedEx's biggest freight terminals. It is expected to be completed in a year.
The terminal will replace the existing facility near the airport. Frank Hurst, vice president of division operations for the company's northern division, says the company outgrew its existing terminal.
He says the new facility will have four times the office space and 130 more bay doors than the old terminal on Industry Drive.
However, the new terminal will not bring new jobs. The 164 workers at the existing facility will move when the new one is finished.
