Statement From Father Of Lewin Powell III

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Lewin Powell Jr., the father of the boy accused of killing his mother, is speaking out.  This is a transcript of his statement. 

"I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for the love and support shown to me and my family during the tragic passing of my wife.  Donna was a wonderful mother and wife.  Lewin is a great kid.  He is very quiet, well-mannered and respectful.  I could not have asked for a better family.  In an isolated situation such as this, there are so many unanswered questions.  This tragic incident could have completely divided and destroyed my family, but through God's grace and mercy we are able to find the strength to go on.  We all love Donna and Lewin and I know that my wife, if she was still alive, would like for us to provide Lewin with the necessary help that he needs.  I am still grieving for my wife and I am also fighting for my son.  This is a very difficult and challenging position to be in. I am going to do everything in my power to support and help my son.  Please note that this in no way lessens the love that I have for my wife.
