Police Investigate Fatal Crash In Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) ―

Montgomery County police say an 80-year-old man was fatally injured in a two-car collision in Gaithersburg.

Officers say a Ford Ranger was traveling east on Midcounty Highway about 1:12 p.m. on Thursday and was trying to make a left turn onto Woodfield Road.

Authorities say that car collided with a Honda Accord that was traveling west on Midcounty Highway.

Police say the driver of the Honda, a man from Gaithersburg, was taken to Shock Trauma, where he later died.

The driver of the Ford, a man from Germantown, was taken to Shady Grove Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
