Montgomery County police have identified a woman who died after her car crashed into the deck of a house in Germantown.

Police say 60-year-old Isaura Justina Mateo of Germantown had been involved in an earlier accident Thursday from which she left the scene.

Officers say Mateo was driving a Subaru Legacy at Middlebrook Road and Scenery Drive in Germantown and fled after hitting a Nissan Pathfinder. The 36-year-old driver, Daniel Goldstein of Germantown, followed her.

Police say when Mateo tried to make a left turn onto Sceptre Ridge Terrace from Scenery Drive, she lost control of the car for unknown reasons. She car crashed through a fence, went into a back yard and hit a deck.

Mateo was pronounced dead at the scene.
