Woman Killed In Crash With State Trooper

VIENNA, Md. (WJZ) ― Friday's dangerous winter weather has claimed a life on the Eastern Shore.

State police say Kristin Underkoffler, 34, was killed in Dorchester County when a state trooper's cruiser crashed into her car.

Police say Trooper First Class Paul Zimmerman was responding to an accident along eastbound Route 50.  According to police, his patrol car slid on an icy patch of the road.

Underkoffler was pronounced dead at the hospital.  Trooper Zimmerman was treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
