Construction Worker Dies After Fall From Roof

PERRYMAN, Md. (WJZ/AP) ― Harford County Sheriff's office says a construction worker died after falling from the roof.

Captain Mike Perry reports it happened around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at a site in the 500-block of Chelsea Drive in Perryman. The sheriff's office says the man was working on the roof, moving sheet metal, when he fell about 35 feet onto a concrete floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maryland Office of Safety and Health was called to the scene. His death has been ruled accidental.

The man employed by Gardner Watson Decking, of Fruitdale, Ala., is from out-of-state and his name is being withheld, pending positive identification and the notification of next of kin.
