Sister Counties Effort Expands On The Shore

STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) ―

A nonprofit organization that has helped forge ties between Queen Anne's County and a county in China wants to help other Eastern Shore counties create similar partnerships.

The Sister County International Council is adding the words "Eastern Shore" to the front of its name and will work with officials in Queen Anne's, Kent, Talbot, Caroline, and Dorchester counties.

Council director Suzi Ford says the partnerships abroad are more than simply business relationships.

The council is based in Stevensville, but Ford hopes to move the headquarters to Chesapeake College.
