Body Recovered From Bear Creek

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ/AP) ― Baltimore County authorities have recovered the body of a man who apparently fell off his crab boat in Bear Creek near Cove Road in Dundalk.

Sergeant Ken Turner of the Department of Natural Resources Police says the body of Martin Needer, 53, of Nottingham was recovered about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Mike Schuh reports officials used side scan sonar to locate Needer's body, which was taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore for autopsy.

Officials received a report about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday concerning an unoccupied vessel circling the creek.

Turner says Needer had launched 15-foot 10 inch motor vessel from Marriott Point Park boat ramp on Tuesday and was crabbing alone. Needer was not wearing a life jacket.
