Girls Found In Freezer Died Of Asphyxiation

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) ― Montgomery County police say two Maryland girls whose remains were found in a freezer both died of asphyxiation.

Calvert County sheriff's deputies found the bodies of Jasmine Nicole Bowman and Minnet C. Bowman in September while investigating an abuse complaint regarding a third, surviving child.

The girls' mother, Renee Bowman, has been indicted on attempted murder charges in the abuse of the surviving daughter.

Bowman is a suspect but has not been charged in the deaths of the other girls, who would have been ages 11 and 9. All three girls were adopted.

Investigators believe the girls may have been dead since at least last November, when the family moved to Lusby from Rockville.
