Harford County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the stabbing of a 41-year-old man which occurred late Wednesday night.
Deputies responded to the 6200-block of Edgewood Road around 11:30 p.m. in reference to an armed robbery and stabbing. Upon arrival deputies made contact with the victim who had been stabbed once in each arm.
While sitting outside of his residence the victim says he was approached by a male subject, displaying a knife, who demanded his cigarettes and money. The suspect then grabbed the victim's cell phone and began to walk away. As the suspect was leaving, authorities say the victim grabbed the suspect, an altercation occurred and the victim was stabbed twice. The suspect then fled on foot.
The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and transported to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
