Ex-Teacher Pleads Guilty In Denton Teen Sex Case
DENTON, Md. (AP) ―
A former Denton school teacher has pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
Lee Holmes, 26, on Tuesday pleaded guilty in Caroline County Circuit Court to one count of second-degree sexual offense.
According to court records, Holmes originally faced six charges. Under his plea agreement, he will serve no more than nine years in prison. Sentencing was set for Oct. 30.
State's Attorney Jonathan Newell says the relationship was discovered last January, after Holmes dropped the girl off at her home. The girl's mother followed Holmes' car and caught up with him when his car struck a tree in Queen Anne's County.
Holmes taught at Lockerman Middle School and now lives in Largo.
