Trial For State's Attorney DUI Case Begins Monday

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) ― Wicomico County State's Attorney Davis Ruark is scheduled to appear in court on drunken driving and weapons charges Monday morning.

The 52-year-old is set to appear in Worcester County District Court after his arrest by Ocean City police in February.

Police say Ruark was pulled over after officers saw him speeding and crossing the center line. Police say his blood-alcohol content of .15, nearly twice Maryland's limit for drunken driving.

Officers found that Ruark had a handgun in his car. Ruark has a Maryland permit to carry a loaded handgun, but Maryland law prohibits a person from transporting a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
