State's Attorney Returns To Work After Break

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) ―

Wicomico County's state's attorney has returned to work part-time a month after his arrest in Ocean City on drunken driving charges.

Ocean City police say Davis Ruark was pulled over on Feb. 22 on 94th Street after officers saw him speeding and crossing the center line.

A breath test showed a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08 percent, Maryland's legal threshold for drunken driving.

Ruark also faces a weapons charge after police say a handgun was found in his vehicle.

Ruark has a Maryland permit to carry a loaded handgun, but Maryland law prohibits a person from transporting a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In a statement, Ruark said Thursday that he has returned to work "on a part-time basis only" and thanked those who have offered support since his arrest.
