Some Light Rail Users To Ride Bus During Project

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

The Maryland Transit Administration says work will begin June 16 to replace a crossing on the Baltimore light rail system, and some commuters will have to use buses between the northernmost stops on the line.

Replacing the crossing at the Warren Road stop will take about six weeks.

During that time, shuttle buses will operate to the stops at Gilroy Road, McCormick Road, Pepper Road and Hunt Valley.

MTA spokeswoman Jawauna Greene says the agency has enough buses and system delays are not expected.

Greene says it is best to do the work during the summer, when ridership is low.
