Boy Accused In Crofton Beating Remains In Custody

CROFTON, Md. (WJZ) ― A judge decides a 14-year-old from Crofton, charged in the death of Christopher Jones, will remain in custody.

Judge Philip Caroom also decided to allow the 14-year-old to be charged as a juvenile with manslaughter in the beating death of Jones.

The attack in the quiet Crofton neighborhood in May lasted five minutes, but it shattered so many the lives forever.

Chris Jones, 14, died after he was beaten while trying to ride his bike home.

An autopsy revealed that Jones died of blunt force trauma.

Another suspect 16-year-old, Javel George, threw the punch that killed him and the judge allowed adult charges against him to stand.
